Sofronia exists only in Marco Polo's imagination — and on your table. The Sofronia Soup Plate is part of Seletti's Hybrid collection, designed by CTRLZAK Studio: a deliberate collision of Eastern and Western ceramic traditions split along a single, colour-charged line across fine bone porcelain.
Calvino's Sofronia is a city of two halves that can never quite agree on which is real. CTRLZAK turns that tension into a soup plate — chinoiserie peonies and willow-pattern blues face off against heraldic cartouches and baroque ornament, separated by a dividing seam that shouts louder than either side. Soup pooling in the bowl deepens the provocation: you eat from a border dispute.
In Dubai's villa dining rooms and private majlis settings, a Hybrid table does what matching service sets cannot — it starts conversations, not just meals. One soup plate, one city, one argument that ends with an empty bowl.
