Named for the sacred Zapotec city of Oaxaca — a civilisation remembered for one of the most precise decorative languages ever cut from stone — this bone-china dinner plate by CTRLZAK for Seletti brings a lost pattern vocabulary into a full-format contemporary dinner service.
Two decorative traditions face each other across a single vivid line that refuses to negotiate. Eastern chinoiserie florals — scrolling, botanically lush — meet the heraldic crests and baroque cartouches of European fine china, with the colour seam doing the conceptual heavy lifting. The dinner plate is Hybrid New Era's largest canvas: a piece of Italian designer porcelain that functions as both daily tableware and a statement of contemporary design thinking.
