Description

Named after Lothal — the lost Indus Valley port that once sent vessels across the Arabian Sea — this dinner plate by CTRLZAK for Seletti treats ancient geography as raw material for bold, divided design. Fine bone porcelain. Not a tribute. A provocation.

Hybrid New Era runs a specific design argument: two decorative worlds — one Eastern, one European baroque — split along a single graphic seam, neither invited to negotiate. On a dinner plate, the divide is wide enough to be architectural. Chinoiserie formal patterns hold one side; Western heraldic ornament occupies the other with equal insistence. CTRLZAK makes that line the entire subject. The point is never harmony — it is the irreducibility of two things that refuse to merge.

Lothal's ancient trade routes crossed the Gulf to reach Mesopotamia; the reference has particular weight in Dubai. Use this plate as the anchor piece of a non-matching Hybrid table — Malao soup plate alongside, Hobyo or Mitla as a third — each cover a different lost civilisation, no two pieces the same.

Hybrid

HYBRID stages a collision of worlds on fine bone porcelain. Created by Seletti with CTRLZAK studio, each piece splits down a bold coloured line: Eastern chinoiserie — peonies, dragons, willow trees — on one side, European heraldic ornament on the other.
