Description

Djenné was one of the Sahel's great medieval crossroads — West African gold routes converging with Saharan caravans, sub-Saharan craftsmanship meeting North African ornament. CTRLZAK Studio names this bone china coffee cup after that city, then makes the collision visible: two opposing porcelain traditions divided by a bold colour bar across a single refined object.

Each piece in the Hybrid New Era series takes its name from a real lost city — a civilisation that once existed where multiple worlds met. For a coffee cup, the reference lands with particular force: cups are where hospitality opens and conversations begin. On the Djenne, chinoiserie cloud-bands and scrolling florals meet baroque European cartouches at a vivid chromatic seam. The line does not smooth the difference — it insists on it.

Alongside a Lothal dinner plate or Kannauj teacup, the Djenne cup joins a table of deliberately unmatched lost cities, each holding a different aesthetic argument. It works on a Dubai qahwa tray as readily as on a boutique-hotel breakfast table — an Italian designer coffee cup that brings a point of view to every service.

Hybrid

Hybrid

HYBRID stages a collision of worlds on fine bone porcelain. Created by Seletti with CTRLZAK studio, each piece splits down a bold coloured line: Eastern chinoiserie — peonies, dragons, willow trees — on one side, European heraldic ornament on the other.
