Description

Stories of Italy's Orange & Blue Pillar Lamp is a Murano glass sculpture built around a classical column — upright in form, maximalist at the surface. The base is worked in the Macchia su Macchia technique: vivid orange and deep blue fused directly into the glass in a glossy, speckled composition that shifts with light and angle. Every piece is mouth-blown by artisans in Murano, which means no two bases carry exactly the same pattern.

Macchia su Macchia is not paint — it's colour built into the glass itself. The result is a surface that reads bold from across a room and intricate up close. A cotton lampshade sits on brass-detailed fittings above a champagne-coloured fabric cord, completing a lamp designed to live long in a room rather than be replaced.

The Pillar form is scaled for console tables, sideboards, and hallway settings — places where vertical presence matters. In a Dubai villa, a private majlis, or a boutique hotel suite, this lamp functions as a focal point and a collector's piece in one.

Care & Use

A wired electrical lamp with a model-dependent base, such as porcelain, Murano glass or resin, and usually a cotton or paper shade. It must be kept dry, unplugged and cool before cleaning; prolonged sun or direct heat can fade the shade and dull the base.

Care: Dust the base and shade with a soft, dry cloth; wipe the base with a barely damp cloth and mild soap only if needed, then dry at once. Keep the shade dry.

Avoid: Water on the wiring or fitting; damp environments that can stain or warp the shade; prolonged sunlight and direct heat that degrade the finish.

Suitable for: Accent lighting for consoles, side tables, sideboards and indoor living or dining spaces.

Stories of Italy

Stories of Italy is a Milan-based design studio that celebrates the richness of Italian craftsmanship through contemporary home objects. Founded by designer Dario Buratto, the brand draws inspiration from Italy’s archaeological, historical, and cultural heritage, reinterpreting traditional symbols and materials in a modern way. Its collections—often crafted from Murano blown glass and Carrara marble—blend design, craft, and art to create distinctive everyday pieces that carry a sense of history while fitting naturally into contemporary interiors.
