Read the column from the base up: a round base in solid black, then a small sphere in the same tone, a large faceted cube in red with its corners sliced away so it balances on a point rather than a flat face, a medium cube in black, and a compact cotton shade in red gathering the sequence at the top.

Every module is hand-cast in a Roman family workshop, then assembled piece by piece along the rod that runs through the column, with brass fittings warming each join between one resin block and the next. The scale suits a surface within reach — a dressing table or bedside shelf — where the sphere's dark weight and the red cube's cut facets read up close. Switched off, the stack reads as sculpture; switched on, light lifts through the shade and warms the space around it.
