Product Details
Four dinner plates set the pace for a graphic table, ready for hosted meals where pattern matters as much as plating. The Hombre Wallpaper set by Weissestal is crafted in Italian porcelain and shaped for a full dinner course, with Andrea Castrignano's illustrative figure work giving each place setting an editorial edge.
Wallpaper is Castrignano's tableware translation of an interior surface: a complete visual environment reduced to the scale of porcelain. In Hombre, line-drawn portraiture becomes the pattern, restrained but expressive, with the rhythm of drawing replacing floral or ornamental decoration.
The making is precise rather than decorative for decoration's sake. The motif comes from Castrignano's own drawings and is applied as a screen-printed underglaze decal, then fired at 1160 degrees so the image becomes part of the glazed surface. It is designer porcelain tableware with an honest craft detail behind the graphic effect.
Use the four plates as a matching dinner setting, or mix Hombre with Cube, Floris, Sakura or the muted Loop palette for a layered table with a strong design point of view.
