The Melania Vase is the most sculptural object in Seletti's Hybrid collection — a bulb-form bone-china piece by CTRLZAK Studio where the East-West collision wraps a three-dimensional form rather than lying flat across a plate.
On one face: cobalt chinoiserie peonies and willow-pattern scrollwork from Chinese export porcelain. On the other: baroque cartouches and heraldic crests in oxblood and ochre. The hard-edged chromatic seam between them — deliberate, loud, refusing to blend — is the design argument CTRLZAK has been making across the entire Hybrid line. On the Melania Vase, that argument becomes a statement object you can walk around. Named after a city in Italo Calvino's *Invisible Cities*, the original literary East-West conversation.
In a Dubai interior, Melania holds its own on a marble console, a boutique hotel sideboard, or a collector's shelf. It holds flowers or it holds nothing. Either way, it holds the room. Pair it with Hybrid dinner plates from across the named-cities range — no two pieces need to match.
