The Kintsugi Dessert Plate by Seletti arrives at the table as both fine porcelain and quiet provocation — white, spare, and traced in gold.
Kintsugi is the Japanese practice of repairing broken ceramics with lacquer dusted in precious metal, so the seam becomes more beautiful than the object was whole. Seletti inverts the gesture entirely: nothing here was ever cracked. The 24kt gold lines branching across this plate's surface are invented fault lines — imagined histories of repair rendered in real gold, applied to a piece that has never known damage.
