Huaricanga was already ancient when Rome was young — a Norte Chico settlement buried in Peru's Fortaleza valley for five millennia before CTRLZAK Studio resurfaced it as the name on this fine bone china dessert plate. Hybrid New Era gives its pieces to the lost and the forgotten, and Huaricanga makes the collection's argument with full intensity: chinoiserie florals on one side, heraldic European cartouches on the other, a vivid graphic seam between them that refuses to negotiate.
At dessert-plate scale, that argument becomes concentrated. The dividing line — Hybrid's defining move — carries more visual tension on a smaller form, making this the most compositionally charged piece of a multi-plate setting. Propped on a shelf or displayed against a wall, Huaricanga reads as contemporary art before it reads as tableware.
