Hybrid Leandra Cake Stand

The Hybrid Leandra Cake Stand places CTRLZAK Studio's East–West collision at the centre of the table — literally. An elevated pedestal in fine bone porcelain, named after one of Italo Calvino's Invisible Cities, it reads as a sculpture before anything is placed on it.

Hybrid, one of Seletti's defining collections, divides every piece along a bold contrasting seam: chinoiserie peonies and willow-pattern scrollwork on one side, baroque cartouches and European heraldic ornament on the other. On a flat dinner plate, that divide is confrontational. On a pedestal form, it wraps the column of the stand — the structure of the object and the conceptual gesture become one and the same. Two traditions, holding each other up.
