Description

Named for the hibiscus flower — *karkadè* in Italian — this Murano glass vase from Stories of Italy translates a sunset into glass. Deep amber shards, fused into an ivory crystal base through the Nougat technique, warm the surface like late-afternoon light on warm stone. The star-shaped rim lifts the familiar Bucket silhouette into something quietly distinctive.

Mouth-blown by master glassmakers in Murano, Venice, each piece begins as molten glass shaped on the pipe. The amber *scaglie* — glass shards — are pressed into the still-hot ivory base as the form takes shape; where they settle is never predetermined. It reads differently at every hour — sharper in morning light, warmer by evening.

At home on a console, a kitchen island, or a bedroom shelf, the Karkadè Bucket brings warmth that sits naturally alongside the timber, stone, and warm-metal palettes of contemporary Dubai interiors. Style it with the Leopardo Olla and Autumn Tall Vase for a layered warm-tone arrangement, or let a single stem do the rest.

Murano Glass

Mouth-blown in Murano by master artisans, these vases and lamps are built — not painted — with the Nougat technique: coloured glass shards fused onto an ivory crystal base while the piece is still on the pipe. Four shapes (Bucket, Olla, Tall and Large) carry seasonal palettes, jewel tones and botanical stories, with a 24-karat gold-leaf edition at the top of the range.
