The making is layered. Amethyst-coloured glass shards are fused directly into an ivory crystal base on the pipe while the glass is still molten — the Nougat technique that ensures no two vases share the same shard pattern. Over this, 24-karat gold leaf is applied by hand, adding a warm luminosity that reads differently at every hour. From one angle: deep, cool purple. From another: the gold warms the entire surface.
