Description

The Portofino Jumbo Cup & Saucer is a fine Italian porcelain piece for those who treat the morning table as a ritual rather than a routine. Coral motifs, pearl-string borders, and gilded ornamental links ornament the generous cup and its wide, flat saucer — Baci Milano's defining gesture of letting jewellery vocabulary dissolve into marine imagery playing out at its most intimate scale.

Portofino is the collection where the jeweller's atelier meets the Ligurian seashore. Chains become coral branches; clasps echo the forms of shells. Conceived at Casa Baci in Milan, each piece captures the slow, luminous mood of Italy's most celebrated harbour village — sophisticated and radiant, never stiff.

On a Dubai villa terrace or a living-room console set for guests, the jumbo cup brings an unmistakably Italian character to the moment. It works equally as a standalone statement piece and as the centrepiece of a composed Riviera morning service alongside the matching Portofino teapot and sugar bowl.

For the gifting calendar, few pieces in the collection carry as much presence at this scale — generous in format, precise in detail.

Care & Use

Durable vitrified porcelain with a hard, glazed, food-safe surface that resists staining and odour. Plain undecorated pieces tolerate everyday use and the microwave, while any 24 kt gold, platinum or metallic detailing must never be microwaved; porcelain is not for the oven or freezer and can crack under sudden thermal shock.

Care: Hand-wash gold, platinum, metallic or hand-painted pieces in warm water with mild soap and a soft sponge, then dry immediately; plain undecorated pieces may be washed by hand or on a gentle/top-rack dishwasher cycle.

Avoid: Microwaving metallic decoration; sudden hot-to-cold temperature changes; the oven and freezer; abrasive pads, steel wool, scouring powders, undiluted bleach, knocks and drops.

Suitable for: Formal dining, tea and coffee service, plated courses, desserts and considered table settings.

Portofino

Portofino captures the Ligurian Riviera at its most glamorous: pearls, chains and precious ornaments that dissolve, mid-pattern, into corals, fish and shells. The jeweller-turned-marine motif flows across porcelain, premium melamine, antistain cotton and velvet cushions in coral red, Mediterranean blue and ivory — one print, four materials, endlessly combinable.
