The gold veins on Soup Plate Three are deliberate fiction — an imagined history of fractures rendered in precious metal. Fine porcelain tableware with a hard, glazed, food-safe surface, finished with 24 kt gold seams. Porcelain resists staining and odour but can chip on impact and crack under sudden thermal shock; because these pieces have metallic detailing, they are not microwave-safe, oven-safe or freezer-safe.

Care: Hand-wash with warm water, mild soap and a soft sponge, then dry immediately; rinse promptly after acidic or strongly coloured foods.

Avoid: The microwave, where gold trim can spark and craze; the oven and freezer; sudden hot-cold temperature changes; abrasive pads, steel wool, scouring powders, undiluted bleach, knocks and drops.
