Four porcelain soup plates from Baci Milano's Portofino collection — each one a composed scene of the Ligurian Riviera, the signature jewellery-to-marine motif running along the rim in coral red, pearl white, and gold.
On a flat plate the Portofino pattern spreads; on a soup plate it gathers and concentrates — chains dissolve into coral branches, pearl clasps become shell ornaments, the goldsmith's vocabulary slowly yielding to the sea garden's. The collection is named for the Ligurian harbour village that became, across the post-war decades, the emblem of Mediterranean refinement and *dolce far niente*: pastel-painted facades above a turquoise bay, long lunches on shaded terraces, the unhurried rhythm of Riviera life translated into fine Italian porcelain, designed at Casa Baci in Milan.
Four matched pieces signal a considered table — whether at a Dubai villa dinner, a terrace gathering in the cooler months, or a restaurant setting that calls for something more than generic white. The Portofino soup plates coordinate with the full porcelain dinner and dessert series, and with the melamine outdoor plates and antistain cotton tablecloth from the same collection.
