Sophie Giallo Lamp - Charlottina

A square base in transparent black resin sets the weight of this Sophie lamp, with a large sphere in the same Nero trasparente carrying that dark clarity straight above it. The column then softens into a resin drop in smoky Grigio fumé, rounded rather than angled. A medium faceted cube in Giallo cuts back in with a single gem-set edge, and a Giallo cotton shade closes the stack in warm cotton.

Switched off, it stands as a small still-life: dark glass-clear resin low, a soft grey curve above it, one cut yellow stone, a yellow cone overhead. Switched on, light passes clean through the transparent black modules and warms sharply once it reaches the Giallo cube and shade. The whole column is hand-cast in a Roman family workshop, module by module, and set on a rod with brass visible at each join.

It reads well on a console or bedside table, or in a majlis corner guests take in before anyone reaches the switch — a considered piece for a new home, and because the shade and cube can be swapped, it stays open to change later.
