Sophie Mignon Topazio Lamp - Charlottina

Sophie Mignon Topazio is the bedside-scale lamp in Charlottina Design's most fluid silhouette, sized to sit close at hand on a nightstand or a narrow shelf rather than command a room. The column trades hard angles for a soft, tapering line, built module by module in hand-cast Roman resin.

Read from the base up: a round foot in solid white anchors the piece; a small sphere in transparent black sits above it, holding shadow; a resin drop in transparent white introduces the curve that gives this family its name, a rounded form standing in for a hard block. A small faceted cube in topazio — the amber-gold of a cut stone, corners shaved away and set on point — catches the light before a compact cotton shade in tortora, a soft warm grey, settles the composition. Each piece is a separate hand-cast element, and the arrangement can be reworked with a different shade or module at any point.

Switched off, it reads as a small still-life of clear and solid resin against matte cotton; switched on, the topazio cube carries warm light down the column and onto the surface beneath it. Scaled for a bedside table, a dressing corner, or a quiet seat near a majlis reception room, it also makes a considered piece of design-led gifting.
