Mac Sitting is the defining gesture of Seletti's iconic Mouse Lamp series — a cartoon mouse settled into a seated pose, holding a bulb aloft as if it were always part of the job. This is pop-art designer lighting, and it makes no apologies for it.
Created by Selab and Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba, the Mouse Lamp series is one of Seletti's most recognisable moves: casting the world's most familiar cartoon archetype in resin and assigning it a function. Mac Sitting works the conceptual angle differently than his standing counterpart — the seated pose is almost companionable, which makes the joke land that much harder. A small sculpture doing exactly what a lamp does, in exactly the way you didn't expect.
