The Hybrid New Era Soup Plate Tula by CTRLZAK Studio for Seletti takes its name from the Toltec capital of ancient Mexico — a city so mythologized that the Aztecs later rewrote it as paradise. In bone porcelain, it carries that charge: two irreconcilable decorative traditions collide across a single chromatic line, and neither concedes.
The deep-welled form opens up the Hybrid design idea in a way a flat plate cannot. Chinoiserie florals curve down into the well on one side; European heraldic ornament commands the other. The coloured seam — CTRLZAK's central gesture — runs the rim and descends, making the divide structural rather than merely graphic. A functional soup course becomes a visual argument.
