Care & Use
Fine vitrified porcelain with a hard, glazed, food-safe surface that resists staining and odour. Plain, undecorated pieces are microwave-safe, but any piece with gold, platinum or metallic detailing must never go in the microwave, as the trim sparks and the decoration can craze or crack. Not oven-safe or freezer-safe, and it can crack under sudden temperature changes.
Care: Wash plain pieces on a gentle or top-rack dishwasher cycle with mild detergent, or by hand in warm water with a soft sponge. Hand-wash any piece with gold, platinum, metallic or hand-painted detail in warm water with mild soap and a soft sponge, and dry it immediately. Wash promptly after use and avoid leaving acidic or strongly coloured foods in prolonged contact.
Avoid: Microwaving any gilded or metallic-decorated piece; the oven, the freezer and tumble dryers; sudden temperature changes such as pouring boiling liquid into a cold cup or moving between hot and cold; abrasive pads, steel wool, scouring powder and undiluted bleach, which scratch the glaze and erode decoration; and knocks or drops, since porcelain can chip or break.
Suitable for: Afternoon tea and coffee service, formal and everyday dining, plated starters and desserts, and gifting.
