The Ortigia Oval Serving Bowl is a piece designed to be filled — a generous melamine form from Baci Milano's Sicilian collection, shaped to anchor the table and command attention before the first course arrives.
Ortigia, the ancient island at the heart of Syracuse, gave this collection its character: Baroque stone facades, fragrant citrus markets, and streets alive with color. Baci Milano's Milan design studio translated that energy into bold graphic patterns — Majolica geometry, ornamental letterforms, and surges of Mediterranean blue and orange. A serving bowl carries this narrative especially well: it sits open, generous, and unhidden at the center of every spread, turning the act of serving into a visual moment.
In Dubai's outdoor entertaining culture — from majlis evenings to villa terrace gatherings — melamine's lightness and resilience make it the natural choice for hosts who refuse to compromise on aesthetics. This bowl holds its form and color beautifully through an entire season of outdoor use.

Food-safe premium melamine — tasteless, odourless and BPA-free, independently tested and certified (TUV, SGS, Intertek). It is rated from about -10 C to +50 C, accepts brief chilling, and is not microwave-safe or oven-safe; prolonged freezer storage degrades the resin.
Care: Use the dishwasher's standard top-rack cycle or wash by hand with mild soap and a soft sponge; hand-wash gold-detailed or hand-painted pieces, and rinse promptly after turmeric, saffron or other strong pigments.
Avoid: The microwave and oven; extended freezer storage; cutting directly on the surface; dishwasher heat and detergent on metallic trims; and leaving strong pigments to sit.
Suitable for: Terrace, garden and poolside dining, casual family meals, buffet service and high-volume hospitality.
Ortigia is named for the island heart of Syracuse — Baroque architecture, Greek ruins and market colour distilled into tableware. Majolica-bright oranges, blues and yellows carry Sicilian symbols and ornate Baroque letterforms across melamine dinner sets, antistain cotton linens and porcelain — including monogram mugs and mini trays lettered A to V for personalised gifting.
