Named for jazz's most electrifying percussionist, this Synthetic Crystal acrylic pitcher by Mario Luca Giusti carries that same restless energy in its silhouette: a form that performs before a drop is poured.
The Florentine atelier behind the name has spent nearly two decades proving that crystal and ceramic had grown too serious, too heavy, too afraid of life. Gene Krupa is one of several named pitchers in the Mario Luca Giusti family — each cast with a distinct personality, each rendered in premium acrylic engineered to imitate cut crystal with a lightness no glassware can match. Care & Use
Food-grade acrylic, also called synthetic crystal, is lightweight, shatter-resistant and crystal-clear for drinkware and serveware. It is comfortable with chilled and room-temperature drinks, but not microwave-safe, not oven-safe and not for boiling or very hot liquids, which can cloud or warp the material; prolonged direct sunlight can dull clarity over time.
Care: Hand-wash in lukewarm water with mild detergent and a soft cloth, then rinse and pat dry; plain undecorated pieces may go on the dishwasher's top rack on a cool cycle below 50°C, while hand-decorated pieces should always be hand-washed. Wash promptly after dairy, coffee, tea or alcohol.
Avoid: Microwave, oven and freezer; dishwasher cycles above 50°C; boiling or very hot liquids; prolonged alcohol or aniseed-drink contact; prolonged direct sun; abrasive pads, steel wool, bleach, benzene and strong solvents; metal stirrers and knife contact that scratch the surface.
Suitable for: Terrace and garden dining, poolside and yacht service, and outdoor entertaining.
